Questions about the Riverwalk Dinner Cruise

How long is the dinner cruise?

The standard river boat dining cruise lasts approximately one hour from the time we leave the dock.

The boat will leave on time, so we recommend being at the dock at least 15 minutes prior to departure. There are no restrooms on the boat, so we recommend using the restrooms at our host restaurant – Tony Roma’s – just before leaving the dock. That way you will be worry free during your cruise!

What happens if I have to cancel my dinner cruise?

Cancellations made 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund. Because we have to pay for the boat and the crew,  cancellations made less than 48 hours from the time of departure will be charged full fare.

Is there easy parking near the Riverwalk?

Parking in the area is easy – park in one of the Rivercenter Mall garages, and then make your way downstairs to the river, just outside the food court area. Parking in the mall is patrolled by security and the mall is open late, so getting back to your vehicle should not be a problem.

Where do we get on the river boat?

Our dinner cruises start from the dock at the Rivercenter Mall in front of Tony Roma’s. On your GPS type in: 849 E Commerce Street, San Antonio, TX 78205.

If I am walking in the Riverwalk, how do I get to you?

If you are walking, we are located directly across the street from the Convention Center off Commerce Street. Just take the stairs down to the Riverwalk by Maria Mai’s and then walk to the boat dock at the entrance to Tony Roma’s. Our dock will be in the back, right hand corner of the mall, in front of Tony Roma’s and next to the food court, if you are looking to the north (towards the mall) from the Commerce Street Bridge.

Do you have a vegetarian menu for your dinner cruise?

Yes, we do have a vegetarian menu, and you can choose this option when you go to book your tickets for you or your vegetarian guests. If a vegan menu is required, please call us at 210.354.2053, and we will be happy to discuss your dietary needs.

Our standard Vegetarian menu includes:
• Appetizer: Goat cheese bruschetta on garlic rubbed crostini
• Salad: Field Green Salad Topped with seasonal fruit and grilled oil brushed croutons
• Entree: Fire Roasted Vegetable Pasta. Topped with shaved Parmesan.
• Dessert: Peanut Butter Pie with Housemade Strawberry jam.

What beverages do you serve on the dinner cruise boat?

Included with your meal are: iced tea, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, or water.
On the boat for purchase we also have Margaritas, our famous Red or White Sangria, Bud Light, Alamo Golden Ale, or Dos XX Lager. These beverages will be added to your final bill at prevailing prices. You must be 21 and have ID to prove it, to be served alcoholic beverages (even on a boat!).

Weather Cancellation Policy

Rio San Antonio Cruises, the boat provider on the river, has an inclement weather policy to ensure the safety of: our customers, the crew, and the boats. Rio San Antonio Cruises reserves the right to cancel or temporarily suspend service due to inclement weather or inclement weather forecasts. Our agreement with Rio San Antonio Cruises requires them to make the cancellation at least 1 hour prior to our event. If the event is canceled we will try to notify you as soon as possible of the cancellation, and we will help you to make other dining arrangements.

Typically, reasons for cancellations include: Heavy rains, lightning, and winds exceeding 25 mph. Temperature and the occasional light rain is not usually included as a reason for a weather cancellation, so please dress appropriately.

Do you have a Kids Menu?

Yes, we have a special kids menu for children less than 12 years of age.

Our standard Kids Menu includes your choice of:
• Kids Pizza with French fries
• Kids Fried Boneless Chicken Bites with French Fries
• Kids Grilled Chicken with steamed broccoli and apple sauce.

Kids menu includes our Dirt Cup Dessert – chocolate mousse topped with gummy worms and crushed Oreos.

What do I do, if I have an allergy or special food request?

Once you have made your reservation, just call us and ask for our Dinner Cruise Catering Manager, and we’ll be happy to create a solution to your issue.

What do I need to do to book an private dinner cruise or special cocktail cruise?

As soon as you know your date and time, let us know so we can reserve the river boat. Then we can work out the details and finalize the menu.

Our lunch or dinner cruises can accommodate up to 20 guests, and our cocktail cruises can accommodate up to 30 guests. If you have more guests than this, it is not a problem, but we will have to rent extra boats. We can also arrange a cocktail cruise for up to 30 guests, and then dinner next to the river on our outdoor patio, or inside in the air-conditioning.
